Quote of the Week

My Pops:

"Jordan is my most academically gifted child. He just doesn't apply himself."

If that doesn't motivate me to be the best in ANYTHING that I do, I don't know what will.

NFL Week 3: Cowboys 21, Panthers 7

Summary

The Cowboys came into this game with a chip on their shoulder. They just recently got embarrassed at their home opener by the New York Giants, and were looking to bounce back at home against the Carolin Panthers who entered this game 0-2. The Cowboys opening drive was superb. Our passing game was working, our running game was working, everything was falling into place. It was no doubt in my mind that we were gonna score....was I wrong. On a 2nd and 9 play on the Panthers 12 yard line, Romo got sacked for a 10 yard loss. That sucked the life out of Dallas because two plays after, we attempted a field goal and missed. So a good opening drive with zero points scored...smh. After that, the first half was just bleh! We were doing great statistically, but we weren't scoring. The Panthers ended up scoring the only touchdown of the first half and we went into halftime down 7-0 along with a whole crowd of boos. But, they came out BOOMING in the second half. We shut the Panthers out 21-0 in the 2nd half. Our run game was again the reason we dominated. Romo wasn't really a factor though. He made key throws, but he left the game without a TD pass. Overall, this was a good, statement win for Dallas. I wasnt impressed that much, but it was a good win.

Well, its actually a couple of players lol.

Victor Butler, the rookie LB out of Oregon State had two key back to back sacks and a forced fumble that helped seal the game for Dallas

Tashard Choice and Felix Jones helped the running game flourish. Choice ran for 82 yards on 18 carries and a TD while Jones gashed the Panthers with 96 yards on 8 carries with an astonishing 11.8 yards a carry!

Play of the Game goes to...

Felix Jones' monster juke on Charles Godfrey

Terence Newmans interception for a TD to seal the game.....sorry, I cannot find a video lol

Highlights

Side Notes.....

Felix Jones strained strained his PCL after a 40-yard run. They sat he might miss a week or two.....The Cowboys now have the most wins on Monday Night Football with 42.....After not recording a turnover nor a sack in their first 2 games, Dallas came up with 3 sacks and 3 turnovers against Carolina.....Tony Romo did not throw a TD in this game

NFL Week 2: Giants 33, Cowboys 31

Summary

*sigh* What can I say about this loss? ALOT, but Ill keep it short. The Cowboys opened there brand new, 1.5 BILLION dollar stadium (nick named "The Palace in Dallas") with a loss to one of our biggest rivals...the New York Giants. What a way to open up a stadium, huh?! -_-. And, on top of that, they broke an attendance record by having over 105,000 people present. That's a SPORTS record, not just an NFL record, a record in all of SPORTS history. You'd think we would come out and win, right?......WRONG! There was a lot of blame to pass around in this loss. You cannot put the blame on any one player, coach and etc. The TEAM as a whole played awful. Our only bright spots were our running game, which gashed the Giants for 251 yards on 29 carries and 2 TD's with a WHOPPING 8.7 yard a run average, and our run defense, which held the Giants to 97 yards on 26 carries and a mere 3.7 yard a run average. Our pass defense was HORRENDOUS. They allowed Eli Manning to throw for 330 yards on 25 of 38 passing and 2 TD's and we didn't sack him ONCE. Ironically, there average gain per pass was 8.7. Don't think that I forgot about Tony Romo. I don't know whats wrong with our quarterback. Its like everytime there is a huge stage, the lights are on and everyone is watching, he chokes. He did mediocre at best. He threw for 127 yards on 13 for 29 passing, 1 TD and 3 interceptions. All three of those picks led to 17 Giant points (pun intended). Our offense turned the ball over 4 times, which led to 24 Giant points. If it wasn't for those lucky plays and crazy turnovers, the score wold have been 31-7. I know I sound like I'm being a homer, but the Giants won this game off of pure luck. Point, blank, period.

Eli's pass to Mario Mannignham that got tipped by Jay Ratliff, but still was caught and setup the game winning field goal...LUCK

Highlights

Side Notes.....
Starting running back Marion Barber III had a quad strain. They say the Cowboys will "wait and see.".....The Cowboys set a new sports attendance record by having 105,121 people present at Sunday's game.....The Cowboys recorded zero sacks this game, and are 32nd in the NFL with zero sacks, after leading the league last season with 59.....After Sunday's stellar rushing performance, the Cowboys now lead the NFL in rush yards a game with 194.5 per and are 3rd in points scored with 32.5 per

NFL Week 1: Cowboys 34, Buccaneers 21

Wow! What a way to kick off the 2009 NFL Season for the Cowboys! The Cowboys continued their opening game success by being the winningest team in season openers in NFL history.

Summary
Overall, we did above average. Our offense wasn't clicking early in the first quarter but we eventually got it together and did excellent. We managed to rack up a total of 462 yards, with most of them coming through the air. Our passing attack was the key to this win, with Tony Romo throwing for 353 yards on 16/27 passing with 3 TD's and a whopping passer rating of 140.6. Our rushing attack didn't really show up as I expected them to, with just a mere 118 yards total rushing and a TD. Even our special teams did great! They managed to block a field goal, which was the deciding factor of the game. Our defense, however, did really shabby. They allowed a total of 450 yards, with the majority of those yards coming on the ground. Cadillac Williams (Tampa Bay's Running Back) ripped us apart for 97 yards on 13 carries and a TD. While Derrick Ward got us for 62 yards on 12 carries and a TD. Our passing defense was no exception either. They allowed Byron Leftwich to scorch em for 276 yards and a TD. The passing D gave up several long bombs and passes also. Those either set up touchdowns or field goals. I can cut the D some slack because there are alot of new guys and they haven't gel'd together properly yet. Id give them about 2 or 3 more games to get it together.

Player of the Game goes to...
Tony Romo.
The reason he gets it because he just proved to everyone and their mother that he doesn't need Terrel Owens to be a successful quarterback. Without TO, he managed to throw 3 TD's to three different receivers and rack up 353 yards with a passer rating of 140.6. Doesn't seem to me that hes missing something, now does it?

Play of the Game goes to...
Gerald Sensabaugh's block field goal.
Believe it or not, this changed the WHOLE tempo of the game. If you watch the game, notice how the home crowd just got extremely quiet lol

Highlights

Side Notes.....
Sensabaugh hurt himself while trying to make a tackle in the 2nd half....Romo tweaked his ankle, but there is no sign of a sprain. He expects to recover fully

Next Week's Opponent:
New York Giants (1-0) at Cowboys Stadium for the home And new stadium opener.

Hurricanes 38 - Seminoles 34

What a way to kick off the 2009 college football season for the Hurricanes!

Gotdamn, what a game! I cant lie, my heart was racing 90% of the game. This game was one for the ages! One of the most exciting games between the two storied rival programs. Jacory Harris played LIGHT OUT, ever after injuring his throwing arm. He went 21-34 with 386 yards and a pair of picks and touchdowns. He also threw a 40-yd pass that lead to the game winning run by Graig Cooper. Jacory won ACC Player of the Week along with his team mate Brandon Harris. Overall I'd give our performance a B-. We were stellar on offense and special teams, but the defense needs to tighten up. They let Ponder (FSU's quarterback) and the rest of the FSU running game run all over them at pivotal moments in the game. But, the defense did step-up at the end of the game when they needed to.

I would post the highlight, but ESPN doesn't let you embed videos...wack -_-

Its all about the U!

Happy 21st.....

to me!!!! I'm 3 days late though lol. I had fun, chilled with my friends and fam and I got some ill gifts! (some from myself and some from friends.) I also felt like I accomplished something. Everyone I know says when they turn 21 they are gonna get stupid drunk, drink till they pass out, etc. Did I do that? No....surprisingly lol. I don't know what was going through my head. I wanted to drink, but I just didn't. I guess it wasn't meant to happen. This is really REALLY surprising because last years when I turned 20, I got SLOSHED...no hyperbole.

Plus...my hair

Its still here =/. I admit it, I backed out like a little bitch!! I love my hair too much lol

4 Days.....

I know you're wondering "Whats the countdown for?" Well.....its for my BIRTHDAY! Yes, I'm turning the big deuce uno. Also, something else EPIC is going to be happening on that day. I plan on cutting of my hair that Ive been growing for 3 years

*waits for reader to stop gasping*

*sigh* Yes, I believe its time to part with my lovely locks. Ive been through so much with them. Ive spent sooo much money on them. Lately they've become a big hassle that I just couldn't deal with anymore. Picking it, trying to get it braided, washing it, covering it up for work, its just become too much of a problem. Alot of people think I'm lying, but this IS happening people, best believe it. Other people agree with my decision and are actually glad that I am doing this. I believe it will give me a more professional look, and I wont be look at differently in job interviews and things of that nature. Besides all of that, I think its a maturity thing. Braids are a bit immature to me now and its time for me to grow up since I'm turning 21. A low cut will give me more of an adult look and maybe people will stop mistaking me as a teenager lol. One thing is for sure though, I'm most definitely going to miss it...":'-(
